| Workshop to review Transport Policy Guidelines for Northern Corridor Member States
The Northern Corridor Transit Transport Coordination Authority (NTTCA) organized a 2days workshop to review and finalize draft Transport Policy Common Guidelines for its member States as well as develop an action Plan for the implementation of guidelines.
The meeting which brought together experts from all 5 member states (i.e. Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and DRC) was held at Mombasa Beach Hotel in Kenya. Each country was represented by 5 delegates with expertise in the fields of Road Transport, Rail Transport, In-land waterways Transport, Pipelines and Transport Safety & Security.

| Taskforce Tours Mombasa- Malaba Section of the Northern Corridor
 The Northern Corridor being a transport system linking Great lakes countries of Burundi, DR Congo, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya to the seaport of Mombasa has infrastructure facilities that include road networks, Railway network, pipelines and inland water ways that are key pillars of the region’s development.
In a bid to facilitate transit transport and trade along the NC, the NCTTCA Secretariat indentified several transit nodes whose performance directly affects the cost of doing business along the corridor.

Implementation of the Transport Observatory Project
The Permanent Secretariat of the Transit Transport Coordination Authority of the Northern Corridor has undertaken implementation of a Transport Observatory Project. The Transport Observatory Project is aimed at improving
the corridor’s competiveness as well as cost effectiveness hence the profitable and most preferred transit route.
The NCTTCA Transport Observatory seeks to establish a practical method of monitoring transit traffic by using
existing computerized data and by undertaking surveys of this kind from time to time to validate the findings and the indicators yielded from the computerized
