TTCA works with diverse partners, including development partners such as the EU, UNCTAD, UNECA, USAID, World Bank/SSATP, and World Customs Organization, to mention a few. Most of these organizations played a crucial role in the formation of the TTCA and continue to support infrastructure development and other projects along the corridor.

TTCA also co-operates with regional partners such as COMESA, EAC, IGAD, PMAESA, and SADC. Institutional partners in private and public sectors include customs, railways, and ports authorities, as well as stakeholders with interests in shipping, road transport and freight forwarding.

The Northern Corridor is also working closley with the East and Central African Global Competitiveness Hub (ECA Hub) within the framework of the African Growth and Opportunities Act (AGOA), aimed at promoting and increasing trade between Africa and the US.

The Trade Hub is part of the US Government support to African businesses to take better advantage of AGOA and to foster closer trade and economic linkages between the US and Africa through an initiative called the Trade for African Development and Enterprise (TRADE).

Three Hubs have been established in Sub-Saharan Africa: Southern (Gaborone), West (Accra), and East and Central (Nairobi). The ECA Hub has a five year programme into two phases; Phase I October 2002 – September 2003 and Phase II October 2003 – September 2007.

Phase I comprises: building capacity for trade policy formulation and implementation; developing private sector business support strategies through the AGOA initiatives; and, improving efficiency and reduce transportation costs related to trade.

Key partners in the programme include regional institutions – such as COMESA, Africa Governments and key public institutions and inter-governmental bodies like TTCA - and the private sector.
The ECA Hub has undertaken to support the transformation of the Corridor from a transport to broad-based economic development corridor, which is expected to generate investment and increase government revenue.
